Blog 5!!!! time flies dont it :)

In the film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ferris often uses Cameron in a way. He makes him make a phony phone call to his principal when it could've gotten him in a lot of trouble. After this, he takes Cameron's father's prized Ferrari. This is obviously not something to mess around with especially if you don't have permission! Ferris really has no respect for what Cameron wants and really just uses him.

One connection I made is to The Lion King. Scar uses the hyenas to gain power as king. Once he is king he does nothing for them at all. He even blames them for the condition of Pride Rock when in a pressure situation. Another similarity in these two stories is how both Cameron and the hyenas come to a realization. Cameron realizes that he needs to take a stand against his father; the hyenas realize that Scar is not their friend and rebel against him.

I think this means that really looking at your life situation and self reflecting will teach you a lot about yourself. Cameron needed to realize that he needs to take a stand against his father. He didn't realize this until he had a reality check. The hyenas didn't realize that Scar was using them and wasn't on their side until Scar was in a moment of weakness. Before a dire situation comes to us, we can just take a moment to self reflect and try to see what is really going on in our lives!

Blog 3 :)

I think the lesson of this story is that nature doesn't need us to keep going on. All of the animals and robots kept going on doing what they normally do even though the humans all died. A lot of the time we become so connected to our electronics when in reality they really don't give us anything of importance back. They don't depend on us to work, but we depend on them sometimes. We need to stop being so addicted to technology and interact with each other like it used to be!

Moral Philosophy mmmmyeeeees yeeees

My moral philosophy consists of the values of hard work, honesty, and respect. Hard work first of all, because you need to earn what you're working for and simply can't succeed without it. With hard work comes dedication and persistance. If someone doesn't want to work hard at whatever they're doing, they don't deserve to be there!
Honesty is very important to me because without it something eventually goes wrong. You can only go on with dishonesty so long before it catches up to you. If somebody is contstantly lying about themselves, nobody truly knows who they are. Being honest also speaks a lot about one's character.

Post 1 :) :) :)

I believe that Chris Mccandless acts the way he does because he wants to be truly free and his own individual in Into the Wild. Chris changes his name and leaves everything behind. This is because he wants to start over and do everything entirely on his own. He only stays in the same area for short amounts of time as to avoid becoming part of a family or group. Having no possesions to your name and no responsibilities is also having a large amount of freedom. Chris threw away all the he had so that he could be free and do what he wanted to do.

The characters in Fantastic Mr. Fox want to prove that the are on the same level as the humans are. They were tired of being looked down upon and mistreated for what they were. The animals were looking more for respect just as much if not more than they were looking for food and drink to steal. When they had to rescue the captured fox, the animals were trying show that they were even more clever than the humans. Everybody wants to be respected!
